Current Lot American silver two-handled tea tray bailey & co., philadelphia, circa 1850 Of oval form, with bead-molded border and handles, the field with two bands of leaf scrolls surrounding an engraved coat-of-arms depicting a two-headed phoenix on a helmet. L: 30 1/2 in. Weight: 158 oz. PROVENANCE: Note: Coat of arms and crest belonging to George Gordon Meade (1815-72), West Point graduate who rose to rank of brigadier-general in the United States Army and oversaw a successful Gettysburg campaign during the Civil War.
