It has a slight  "hammered silver" appearance with a terrific ornate relief around the top. The handle is perfect in every way. The bottom has the DURGIN mark inside a crest and reads "Sterling....0249...4 1/2 PT". This pitcher stands approximately 8 1/4" tall at the top of the handle. I've polished it some but it could use an overall professional polish. The only flaw I see is an indent / bump on the outside (see pic). I'd say this is from the late 1890's to early 1900's.
