Description
ANTIQUE VINTAGE Pat. Jan 5 1915  Bausch & Lomb Microscope with Case, Spencer Mechanical Stage Table Attachment and Condenser with Iris     FOR YOU COLLECTORS!   This would look great on a shelf or in a display case!!    Own a beautiful piece of working scientific history!   This microscope is in extremely good condition for its age.   It is also very heavy.    It operates well!    The main stand is cast iron and the rest appears to be solid brass!  The front states:  “Bausch & Lomb Optical, Rochester, N.Y. U.S.A.” The top states: “Pat. Jan. 5. 1915”.  (I can not find a serial number or model number).   The microscope has a Spencer mechanical stage with an “ X – Y” axis test plate holder.   The instrument has a three-lens turret with two Bausch & Lomb brass lenses: “16mm .25NA”  and  a “1.9mm 1.25 oil immersion”.   The third lens is a Spencer “16mm – N.A.0.25-10x”  with serial number 512579.     There is also a Condenser with a smooth operating Iris.           There are two eyepieces, one 10x and one 5x.   All of the brass knobs, including the ones for the mechanical stage, operate smoothly.   Fully extended, the microscope is 14-1/4” tall.  It is 6-3/4” deep and 5” wide.   I have not polished the brass.  I’ll leave that decision up to the buyer.  I have many polished brass items, but the ageing on the brass knobs for this instrument look superb just as they are.  They actually have a golden hue to them.   The case is in very good condition with an interior that looks great!  There is no handle on the case.   I purchased it from a jeweler who stated that they paid $300.00 for it back in 1970.   Please note: Shipping insurance will be required with the purchase of this item.   See the photos, for they make up much of the description.      This item is being sold "as is".   Please contact me with any questions about this item.   THANK YOU!   Please check out my other items on ebay!   SHIPPING:  I combine shipping for items sold around the same time.  I use “U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail” or U.S. Parcel Post.  Their rates appear to be the most fair.  “Over-sized” domestic packages are sometimes forced to be sent Parcel Post. I try not to make a killing on postage and handling and I try to be fair (I have even lost money on postage).  Please be advised that I ship once a week.  I package items very well.  I take no responsibility for loss or damage in shipping. I recommend insurance for U.S. buyers, but you must inform me that you want insurance so I can include it in the invoice. (I do not take responsibility for damage caused by shipping for domestic or overseas items).   International shipping is available, “U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail International”, but you will need to send me your address and postal code for a shipping price estimate.  Priority International shipping usually includes basic insurance, free of charge!   Please note:  Over time, I have discovered that a lot of people do not realize how expensive overseas shipping can be.  Furthermore, when they look up the shipping estimate on the Internet, they are often looking at the price for a large envelope sized item and not a box or package!   I will be glad to give you an overseas shipping estimate.  Note: this my estimate because I will not know how much the final package weighs until it is in it’s final package and includes the weight of the item(s), the outer box and any protective padding.   Payment:  I expect payment within 5 working days from end of auction or date of purchase. I prefer you pay with Paypal but I also will accept Money Orders or Cashiers / Bank checks for items that have a final selling price of $30.00 or under. Money Orders or Cashiers / Bank checks must be mailed within 48 hours after the auction ends.  Email me if you intend to pay this way and when you mail the payment.  Contact me if you want to make special arrangements.  I will always hear-you-out. First time bidders are welcome (you have to start somewhere). Please familiarize yourself with ebay procedures. Please do not bid on an item unless you intend to buy it!                     PHOTOS: I pride myself on providing good photos of all my items so you can have a very good view of what you are purchasing.  Note: Sometimes I’ll place a ruler or a familiar item, like a dollar bill, in the photos, for scale only (they are not included with the purchase).  Returns: Items have a 14-day money back guarantee, (from the day you receive them). Items must be returned in the exact same condition as they were sent, or they will not be accepted as a return.  Any item that was in original shrink-wrap can only be returned if shrink-wrap has not been removed.  All our items are sent to you well packaged and should be returned in the same manner.  (Especially fragile items or items containing small parts).  Return postage will be your responsibility, unless you have first made arrangements with me via the Internet. Items sold “as is” are just that and cannot be returned unless you can show me they were not described properly.  Remember, used items are just that, used items (I don’t sell abused items unless they are being sold and listed that way, or as parts). I do my best to describe the conditions of my items in an honest manner.  I don’t take responsibility for consequential damage, so I advise that you check your items soon after receiving them. My goal is happy customers so don't hesitate to communicate with me! I’m glad to answer questions.  Criminal violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!  Further more, others and myself have been occasionally running into pornographic or pornographic-like photos in ebay listings, where they should not be.  We report these to ebay immediately (its not ebays fault) and I’d appreciate it if you did the same.  I don’t look at that garbage and I’m upset that I’ve encountered it on ebay under listings like ship model kits and children’s toys.  If we all complain, maybe this can be stopped.  Ebay is supposed to be fun so lets enjoy ourselves.  As a Marine Corps Veteran and father and uncle of Marines, I ask that you please support our troops and pray for them!!! I hope you enjoy bidding on my Items.  Thank you and God Bless!
