This serving spoon or tablespoon was made by Durgin in the "Dolly Madison" pattern ca 1910. The shape is a stylized early American pattern with a very slender neck, a round down-turned tip and an elongated drop on the back of the bowl . The bowl is large and 'egg' shaped. The tip of the handle is beautifully monogrammed with "EMH" in fancy script letters. The spoon is impressed on the back of the stem with a script "D" for the Durgin company, "Sterling" and "R". Measurements: 9" long with a tape measure laid along the contours of the bowl & down the handle. Condition: Light surface scratches overall and a few very tiny deeper scratches in the bowl.
