Item--See Description See more about 'Antique Georgian Figured Walnut Chest of Drawers' Description Antique Georgian Figured Walnut Chest of Drawers (Click to Enlarge) This antique chest of drawers featured a lovely figured veneer believed to be walnut. Measures 44" high by 44.5" wide by 20.5" deep. Round figured knobs appear to be original. Drawers have hand-cut lap dovetails and cockbeading of the type brought into use starting in the 1770s. Overall condition is excellent. There is a chip approximately 1" long from the veneer along the front right edge, which no doubt can be easily repaired by a professional. Overall condition of the veneer is excellent, but there is some buckling on the left side of the piece, consistent with its age. Bottom features bracketed feet and an elegant shaped skirt on front and sides. Based on its overall style and particular features, including knobs and drawer construction, we estimate it dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. No keys are available.
