It is 14 ½ inches extended and 12 inches in the down position. The ocular and objective are both unmarked and are in excellent condition. The objective has the Society threads. The single concave mirror is excellent. The coarse focus rack and pinion is excellent. The fine focus is also excellent. The foot is iron and the remainder is lacquered brass. The arm is marked “Thompson, 24 Manchester St., Liverpool”. Gloria Clifton lists a John Thompson, Optician, on Manchester St. from 1830-1860. There is no case or further accessories.
