The back, like the rest of this piece, is quite sturdy.      This beautiful antique mahogany bowfront chest of drawers was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890. The mahogany displays a fine, rich grain and lustrous complexion, which the columnar twist carvings and round wooden knobs emphasize quite wonderfully. Because this chest is over a century old, it has had time to develop a lovely patina, which enriches the mahogany's distinct grain and complexion, which should only continue to grow more beautiful with time. A classic two-over-three drawer design offers plenty of storage space, with each drawer featuring hand-cut dovetailed joints. Sturdy turned feet provide strong support. The chest has sustained some minor surface wear consistent with age, particularly on the sides and top, and the drawers are missing some moulding in places.
