Gilt over gesso. Some damage to trim and bundle of wheat, otherwise in very good condition. White paper dial inscribed “Barometre Thermometre Selon Reaumur” with weather conditions in French from Pluie (rain) to Tres Sec (dry). Original glass mercury tubing, central temperature scale. and metal workings. Unfortunately, we cannot easily remove the thermometer glass tube or drain the mercury. As you can see from the photos, the barometer glass tube is missing, so this is not an issue. We can only ship with the thermometer tube and mercury intact at buyer’s risk. (If the glass breaks, presumably the dial would be stained badly.)
