Underhill I have for auction a very unique 51 inch tall barometer which is unsigned but the exact same one sold recently and was signed. A Victorian carved oak cistern tube stick barometer T Underhill, Manchester, mid 19th century With elaborate foliate carved crest above glazed canted  scale calibrated in inches with double vernier and signed T. UNDERHILL, OPTICIAN, MANCHESTER within carved ogee surround above trunk with rectangular glazed ivory Fahrenheit and Reaumur scale  thermometer flanked by spiral turned columns, the cistern with cover carved as a bearded mask, 128cm high. T Underhill is recorded in Banfield, Edwin BAROMETER MAKERS & RETAILERS 1660-1900 as working from 70 Bridge St, Deansgate, Manchester circa 1830-50. I will have to figure out the shipping after the sale so don't ask for a quote. It will have to be prepped for shipment which I have never done but could probably figure it out with help. The unit is in marvelous shape considering the age and the verniers work just need knobs. Otherwise please ask for additional pics if you want them of any specific part of the Barometer.
