Description
WE ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS THROUGH PAYPAL. Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Our opening bid is our reserve. Regency Furniture. Outstanding large mahogany wine cooler or cellarette. English. Circa 1825. This sarcophagus shaped cellaret has a fabulous style and proportions. Very desirable and usable piece. Quality cellarets are becoming quite scarce. The cellaret was used for short term storage of wine in the dining room and usually stood next to the sideboard. This one is one of the nicest we have encountered. Solid mahogany and highly figured mahogany veneer. Appears to be the original finish in wonderful shape with an outstanding patina. Gadrooned edge on the lid. Button topped spiral carvings ending on stylized paw feet. Hidden casters in the paw feet. The interior is lined. Overall very good condition with age appropriate minor imperfections. Lacking its lock. Measures about 31" long and is about 25" wide at the extremes. The piece is about 27" tall. You would have to look long and hard to find a nicer one. BID WITH CONFIDENCE . We have been selling on Ebay since 1997.We always strive to describe the items to the best of our abilities.
