Description
alley-antiques Store WE ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS THROUGH PAYPAL.Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Our opening bid is our reserve. Victorian Furniture. This great Victorian burl walnut side cabinet sold as-is as-found. Circa 1850. Unusual form. Burl walnut with exceptional figuring. English. Taller than a credenza this cabinet measures over 58" tall, and about 54" wide, and 13" deep. Nice shape with curved side doors. Nicely carved fruit, corn and apple blossoms. Great thick filigree work. There is a hidden button that is pushed to open the front glass panel, which folds down. The bottom is open. All of the interior is lined in maroon velvet. The condition is good as-is, as-found. Age appropriate imperfections. Some molding losses around the curved glass, and carved flowers, and 1 side flower lacking. Dings, scuffs, and losses due to age. Sounds worse than it is. The only markings on the piece are on the hinges, which say "Horne Patent" on most. The beautiful figured walnut and excellent carvings make this an excellent focal point in any room. Very scarce form with fabulous figuring.
