Gold Lined with Original Box You are buying a rare, limited edition, absolutely gorgeous sterling silver bowl.  This bowl was issued by the Franklin Mint on the Bicentennial Anniversary of the United States.  The Franklin Mint Bicentennial Bowl is an original work of art created on the occasion of our nation's Bicentennial to commemorate 200 years of American independence.  It is believed to be the largest and heaviest commemorative silver bowl ever issued in the United States. Circling the bowl is a masterfully sculptured frieze presenting the dramatic sweep of our nation's 200-year history - from the signing of the Declaration of Independence to the celebration of the Bicentennial.  Included are scenes portraying the great migrations westward, the ordeal of the Civil War, the crossing of the continent by rail, the marvelous age of invention and the triumph of man's first landing on the moon.  Measuring over 43 inches in length, this remarkably detailed frieze is the most extensive single work ever undertaken by the sculptors of The Franklin Mint.  The first bowl, bearing serial number 1 was presented to President Gerald R. Ford - for the people of the United States - at Bicentennial ceremonies in Philadelphia on July 4, 1976. The outer rim of the bowl depicts various scenes from the history of America.  The detail is exquisite.  The pictures do not do it justice. This bowl is number 399 of a limited edition of only 750.  It contains more than 150 troy ounces of solid sterling silver. WOW!  The inside of the bowl is lined with 24 kt gold.   It measures approximately 14" across.  This bowl has been gently used. There are a few minor scuffs on the inside of the bowl.  I believe this could be buffed out. This item will be in its original box, which does show some  signs of wear.  This bowl is numbered, which makes it a great collectible piece. This certificate of authenticity will be included.
