Description
This is a good working barograph with an ivorene (!) plate for Dollond. The barograph comprises an aneroid stack of eight nickel plated capsules, brass linkage and aluminium pen with bucket nib, and a chart drum driven by a good 7/8 day clock work. All of this is mounted on a brass plate and all brasswork retains its original lacquer in good condition with the exception of the drum lid which is slightly blemished. The baseplate carries a good working thermometer on an ivorene (!) backplate calibrated in degrees Centigrade and Fahrenheit. Behind the thermometer there is a 'Set Pen' millhead. There is also an ink bottle and dropper in a brass stand. The case is something of an enigma. It is unusual in that it is made from pine which has been relacquered; this may be a replacement for the original - I don't know. The heavy bevelled glass panels are all good and the drawer contains a handful of unused Casella charts. The barograph measures 15 x 9 x 9 inches (380 x 230 x 230 mm) and weighs 4.4 kg. Shipping & handling will be £13 for a two day UK delivery; overseas more. No reserve. On 05-Oct-08 at 19:35:07 BST, seller added the following information: artyess Store
