Here is a 71 piece set of sterling silver flatware in the "Greenbrier" pattern, introduced by Gorham in 1931. No monograms!  This set most likely dates to the middle 1950's. It has a natural patina from 50+ years of use. 71 piece set includes: 2 Large Serving Spoons (8.5") 1 Gravy Spoon (6.25") 1 Sugar Shell (6") 1 Large Cold Meat Serving (8") 7 Flat Butter Knives (5.75") 12 Knives (8.5") 12 Cream Soup Spoons (6.25") 11 Teaspoons (5.75") 12 Forks (7 3/8") 12 Salad Forks (6.5") Handsome Walnut Wood Case It it is missing a teaspoon, otherwise it services 12. It is easy and inexpensive to get the extra teaspoon. Pieces are marked "Gorham Sterling, Pat 1938, R" at backsides, with the exception of knives, which are marked "Stainless" at base of blade. Case measures approximately 18.5" long, 11.25 wide, and 3.25" deep.   Weighs 99.2 ozt all together. In excellent condition, with wear to case (scratches, marks) as noted in photos. Also, the bands that hold the knives in place exhibits wear and fraying along edges. Flatware pieces themselves are in excellent condition, with minimal surface wear.
