The bottom is impressed with the marks Birks Sterling, date symbol for 1947, 7/9 together with Original Hall Marked and 20-POG-47. The tray has an ornate & elegant border. It measures 14" in diameter x 3/4" at the rim and is very heavy, weighing 1.3 kg (46.4 ounces, 2.9 pounds). Condition is excellent with no dents, dings or repairs, only some minor superficial scratches.
