Description Magnificent Pair of Antique Bronze Andirons   40” tall & 19 ½ “ wide at the base. Gary  Berwin, the former owner of the Berwin Entertainment Complex/ Hollywood Atheltic Club on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, purchased the Andirons for his home in 1981 or 1982 from Christy Walsh Jr. from the estate of Christy Walsh Sr. Christy Walsh was the agent for Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, among other baseball players of that era. Christy was also a sports director for the 1939 New York World's Fair. Christy Jr. told us that his parents had purchased the antique Andirons in Italy, and showed us various receipts and newspaper articles. The Andirons resided in Berwinshire Castle on Mulholland Drive for the next decade, and are still owned by Mr. Berwin. Place a Bid!
