Creatively designed and richly ornamented. A superb example of the finest late 19th century American sterling. From our personal collection of thirty years. Now offered on Ebay. Classic raised circular design. Beautifully hand chased leaf and floral decoration to gently flared upper rim. Lush swirling floral displays. Masterfully repoussed. Each floral stand completely distinct from the next. Alternating with wide, swirl fluted panels. The contrast betwen the richly chased florals and smooth panel surfaces adds even more visual appeal to an already dramatic design. Retains portion of original gold wash interior. The centre bowl supported upon boldly fashioned, layered acanthus cap paw and claw feet. Monogrammed to centre interior "MBE". No monogram to visible exterior body. This stunning, c1891 Tiffany streaming floral and swirl fluted centre bowl is 9 1/2 inches in diameter and it is 4 1/4 inches tall. Extremely thick, heavy guage sterling construction, 28 ounces. In excellent condition. Appears little if ever used. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The richly detailed streaming floral displays retain their original crisp, vibrant hand chased detail. Portion of the original gold wash interior. The centre bowl stands perfectly firm on table or sideboard. Hallmarked to underside as shown. Including early Tiffany pattern number "9447". This denotes c1891 production. It also suggests that this centre bowl is a re-introduction of an earlier, c1887 Tiffany pattern.
